Punjab University Marks World Mental Health Day

LAHORE– Punjab University Centre for Clinical Psychology in collaboration with District Population Welfare Office Lahore, Adolescent Health Centre, Family Health Clinic, Jinnah Hospital Lahore and Lady Willington Hospital Lahore has organized an awareness walk and set up stalls at various places at New Campus on Thursday to mark the World Mental Health Day.

The walk began from old building of Centre for Clinical Psychology and concluded outside Centre for High Energy Physics. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed, CCP Director Dr Saima Dawood, faculty members and a number of students participated in the walk.

The participants were holding banners and posters inscribed with mental health awareness information. Talking to the participants, PU VC Prof Niaz Ahmed said that a healthy mind was necessary for a healthy society.

He said that instead of getting worried in crisis, one must leave the matter to Allah because it was stress-relieving and source of mental satisfaction. He said that we must take care of our mental health as well as physical health.

The vice chancellor also visited mental health awareness stall set up outside Undergraduate Block where students were distributing mental health related pamphlets among the students.
