LAHORE– Keeping in view the financial and procedural difficulties faced by general public in registration of births especially, the Punjab government has amended the Punjab Local Government (Registration of Births and Deaths) Rules 2021 to reduce fee for multiple certificates.
The reductions have been made following the recommendations of the Secretary Local Government and Community Development, Noorul Amin Mengal and the Director General LG&CD Punjab, Kausar Khan.
The charges for registration/issuance of certificates have been reduced considerably.
A fee of Rs200 only instead of Rs30 will be charged for issuance of a certificate of any vital events i.e birth, death, marriage and divorce.
The department has also reduced charges for registration in late categories.
Moreover, late category of birth registration has been extended from two years to seven years for the convenience of parents.
