Federal Govt Notifies Kamran Afzal as CS Punjab, Rao Sardar Police Chief

LAHORE– The federal government Tuesday appointed senior bureaucrat and Secretary Industries and Production Kamram Ali Azal as Chief Secretary Punjab and Rao Sardar Ali Khan as Punjab Police chief.

The notifications were issued by the Establishment Division, the Government of Pakistan after Prime Minister Imran-led cabinet accorded final approval.

Outgoing IG Inam Ghani has been appointed Inspector General Punjab Railways Police, while outgoing CS Jawwad Rafique Malik has been transferred and posted as Secretary Industries and Production, Government of Pakistan.

Newly-appointed IG Rao Sardar is considered an upright and professional police officer. He has served key positions in Punjab police and the Intelligence Bureau.

Belonging to 18th Common of the Civil Service of Pakistan, Mr Khan has vast experience in field policing. He has served Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. The officer also joined the United Nations mission for eight months and and served a position in Australia for two years.

Rao Sardar remained CPO Faisalabad, DIG Operations Lahore, RPO Sargodha, RPO Bahwalpur, Additional IG Welfare and Finance Punjab. He has served IB for five years.
