Sacked Employees of SNGPL, Other Organisations Stage Protest, Appeal for Reinstatement

LAHORE– Sacked employees of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and other organisations on Tuesday staged a protest against the Supreme Court’s decision of sacking 16,000 government employees outside the Lahore Press Club.

The families of employees of other organizations affected  by the decision also attended the protest.

Addressing the protest , the spokesperson of the Joint Action Committee of All Pakistan Sacked Employees said this decision is economic slaughter of the employees.

He added their children are studying in schools and colleges for a better future and hope butt their scholarships have been stopped.

They appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Chief Justice of Pakistan to review the decision.

The affectees also filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court against the decision.

PPP leader Ch Manzoor also attended the protest and assured the support of Pakistan Peoples Party to 16,000 sacked employees.

He said: “We all stand with you in the fight for the fundamental rights of the affected employees. We will not allow the government to ruin the life and future of so many families”.
