Plenary Session About Training Modules for Modern Investigation Skills Held at CPO

LAHORE– Inspector General of Punjab Police Punjab Captain (retired) Arif Nawaz Khan has said the training courses of Punjab police have been upgraded in order to face challenges of modern policing and special modules about morality, ethics and public dealing have been incorporated in basic recruit course so that officials may serve in the field in better way.

He further said that both operations and investigation wings of police stations should be improved in accordance with smart and community policing and steps should be taken in this regard.

The IGP reiterated that training modules should be assimilated with contemporary needs in order to make standard of investigation equal to international standards.

The IG Punjab directed that expert, intelligent and skilled investigators should be appointed as instructors in school of investigation. He added that, short term refresher courses and workshops for augmenting efficiency of officials should be completed as early as possible.

He directed to Addl IG training that he should constitute short term special training courses plan for officials and police stations and also patrolling forces under his supervision and awareness regarding public dealing, stress management, emergency response, moral grooming and laws should be focused in this short term training.

The IGP directed to conduct these short term courses for the concerned force in all training colleges and schools in phases.

Those views were expressed by the IG Punjab while chairing a high level session of officers regarding training of Police force.

IGP directed to officers that policing standard can not be improved without improving level of training therefore services of professional experts of different institutions and skilled instructors should be benefited for ensuring best training of Police force.

IG Punjab said that lectures of motivational speakers should also arranged for mental health along with physical fitness of officials.

He further said that scientific based investigation should be promoted and modern technology should be utilized so that investigation process could reach its final stage based upon proved evidences without any rejection and within a given time frame.

He further said that Punjab Forensic Laboratory laced with modern facilities is a state of the art institution by which high profile cases may be sorted out so that criminals who are enemies of property and lives of people should be brought to the justice.

He said that extra curricular activities enlighten the abilities of human beings so special attention should be given to sports and healthy competitions for trainee officials in all training institutions across the province and excellent performers should be encouraged.

He moreover said that instructors who put undue strictness and reprimand officials are not acceptable in any training institution therefore able, courteous and quality instructors should be appointed in training institutions.
