FAISALABAD– A suspected robber was arrested in injured condition while his accomplice managed to escape during a shop robbery in Millat Town area on late Wednesday.
City Police Officer Captain (retired) Mohammad Sohail Ch told lahoremirror.com that at around 8:30pm on two robbers entered into a carpenter’s store and opened fire at the owner on facing resistance. The shop owner suffered leg wound.
People around the scene tried to neutralise the suspects. A police team patrolling nearby rushed to the crime scene, but the suspects upon seeing the approaching police party started firing that led to an exchange of fire between two sides.
One of the suspect managed to flee, whereas, the other suffered bullet wound and was arrested on spot.
DIG Sohail Ch said the wounded suspect was shifted to a hospital for treatment, while police teams had been constituted to arrest the runaway suspect.

He said on perusal of criminal record it came to notice that this injured robber identified as Asif Ali had remained in jail for four years in a dacoity with murder case registered with the Millat Town police station.
