GUJRANWALA/SAHIWAL– The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) recently conducted two awareness sessions on Withholding Tax and Sales Tax on Services for public sector clients in Gujranwala and Sahiwal.
As per the direction of Commissioner PRA Gujranwala Javaid Iqbal Sheikh, a training cum awareness session on Withholding Tax and Sales Tax on Services was conducted by Additional Commissioner Zaka Ullah and Enforcement Officer Ali Raza.
Representatives from different public departments from Gujranwala district i.e. Metropolitan Corporation, District Council, Cattle Market Management Company, Gujranwala Medical College, Building Department, Highway Department, DC Office attended the session at PRA Gujranwala Commissionnerate.
The applicability of Punjab Sales Tax on Services (Withholding) Rules 2015 and responsibilities of withholding agent were discussed in the detail followed by Questions Answers session.
The other orientation workshop on withholding of sales tax on services has been conducted by Aamer Farooq, the Enforcement Officer on the directions of Commissioner PRA Sahiwal Ms Saulat Saqib.
Representatives/account officers/ audit officers from various public sector hospitals from Sahiwal, Vehari, Pakpattan and Okara, Depalpur, Arifwala, Chichawatni, Burewala and others participated.
Additional Commissioner PRA Sahiwal Abdul Shakoor welcomed the participants and explained the responsibility of withholding agents and applicability of withholding rules.
