Punjab Govt Appoints Sohail Ch as DIG Operations Lahore, Dr Abid CPO Faisalabad

LAHORE– The Punjab government on Monday appointed City Police Officer Faisalabad as DIG Operations Lahore after the transfer of DIG Sajid Kiyani.

The latter was transferred after a female TikToker was assaulted and harassed at Minar-e-Pakistan on Independence Day.

The case became talk of the town after a video went viral on social media and attracted criticism on security of public parks and women protection.

On the one hand, the woman TikToker has been facing criticism over her “indecent videos” she made with the help of her male partner and inviting her fans to Minar-e-Pakistan before her arrival, and on the other the Buzdar-led government made no haste to make five police officers scapegoats to cool down public anger.

According to the notification issued by the Services and General Administration of the Punjab government, DIG Sohail Ch has been transferred and posted DIG Operations Lahore, DIG Punjab Highway Patrol Dr Muhammad Abid Khan has been transferred and posted CPO Faisalabad.

DIG Traffic Police Punjab Imran Mahmood has been transferred and posted Regional Police Officer Faisalabad.

Both DIGs Sohail Ch and Dr Abid belong to 28th Common, while DIG Imran Mahmood is from 25th Common.
