DIGs Faisal Rana, Kamran Adil Bring Honour to Pakistan as UN Shortlists Them for Police Secondment Permanent Mission

LAHORE– Two senior police officers from Pakistan have brought another honour to Pakistan as the United Nations (UN) has recently shortlisted them for the post of Policy Coordination Officer (P-4) at its headquarters under the phase 1 of the 2020 Police Secondment Permanent Mission.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Captain (retired) Muhammad Faisal Rana, incumbent Dera Ghazi Khan Regional Police Officer, and DIG Kamran Adil have been shortlisted out of around 100 police officers who had applied from Pakistan for the UNHQ-based positions.

Usually police officers from across the globe apply for five positions at the Police Division, Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions, the United Nations Headquarters, New York.

“The UN Secretariat will now approach the candidates directly regarding the arrangements for an assessment(s). Upon the success of assignment(s), the final appointment will be subject to further screening including a reference check,” says a written correspondence.

Earlier, as many 28 Punjab police officers were recommended for interview for their recruitment against multiple posts under phase 1 of the 2021 Recruitment Campaign Police Secondment to the United Nations Headquarters New York.

The UNHQ will interview officers recommended from all over Pakistan for selection against multiple seats.

In a written correspondence with the Punjab Secretary Services office, the Punjab police DIG Headquarters intimated that the said officers had applied against multiple posts.

It was informed that the enclosed applications of the officers are recommended which may be forwarded to the National Police Bureau, Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan.
