Punjab Eyes Vaccination of 20 Million People During RED Campaign

-- Dr Yasmin Rashid says world is witnessing start of fifth corona wave

LAHORE– Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid inaugurated Turk-Pak photo exhibition at University of Education, Township, on the eve of Turkish Republic Day here on Friday.

Present on the occasion were Younis Emre Institute Director General Olash Artas, Pro Vice Chancellor University of Education Dr. Muhammad Arshad, Film Art Culture Exchange and Collaboration Executive Director Majid Rafiq, Turkey Urdu Executive Editor Muhammad Hassan and Lahore-based Turkish businessmen. Also in attendance were Syed Adnan Jamil, Professor Javed Chaudhry, Wajihuddin and others.

The photo exhibition titled “1000 Years Connect” was organized by the Film Art Culture Exchange and Collaboration (FACEN.org) in collaboration with the University of Education, while Turkey Urdu was its media partner. The University of Education also organized a ceremony to commemorate the Turkish Republic Day.

Addressing the function, Dr. Yasmin Rashid said, “Such programs reflect the beauty of Pak-Turkish friendship and highlight a positive image of Muslim communities to the world. I congratulate the organizers for this event. I congratulate Turkey on their national Republic Day. Turkey is one of the developed countries in the world today and Pakistan is very proud of Turkey being a strong and successful state. There is deep historical and cultural bond between Turkey and Pakistan which binds them together.

The photo exhibition depicts a connection spanning beyond 1000 years. Prime Imran Khan has always vouched for closer ties between Pakistan and Turkey. We are proud of Pak-Turkish friendship. Turkey was very supportive of Pakistan during the Corona pandemic and Turkey has always raised its voice on the Kashmir issue at the international level and has supported Pakistan. Many projects have been completed in Pakistan with the support of Turkey and some are in progress.”

Younis Emre Institute Director General Ulas Ertas said, “I am very happy to be here today. We are two states and one nation. The friendship between Turkey and Pakistan is very old and deep. With the help of this program, Pak-Turkish friendship will become stronger. He appreciated the Executive Director of FACEN, Majid Rafiq for this first of its kind event.

Dr. Muhammad Arshad, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, congratulated his Turkish brothers and sisters on the occasion of Republic Day. He said, “It is very important to acquaint the generations with our history and culture, we are proud of Turkey, we are proud of the relationship and friendship between Turkey and Pakistan.”

Majid Rafiq, executive director of FACEN, said that aim of the exhibition was to raise awareness among the younger generation about the common culture of Turkey and Pakistan.

Turkish businessman who attended the ceremony said that the bond of friendship and love between Turkey and Pakistan was getting stronger and stronger. Cooperation in the field of business between the two countries is also increasing. People from Pakistan are going to Turkey. People are coming to Pakistan from Turkey.

At the end of the ceremony, the guests welcomed the photo exhibition and said that such efforts could play an important role in strengthening the relationship between the two countries.— HANDOUT
