Municipal Corporation Takes Possession Of City Check Posts, Begins Fee Collection

Teams in association with police led by Administrator General General Bus Stands Ahmad Raza Butt get five check posts retrieved from previous contractor

LAHORE– The Municipal Corporation Lahore (MCL) on Monday collected fee for intercity buses at different check posts of the provincial capital after getting illegal possession retrieved from the previous contractor.
Contractor Haji Ismail, who had earlier won auction, got his contract ended on Monday midnight. 
Last night at 12am the contract ended and no contractor opted it in recent auctions. Therefore, staff of the office of Administrator General bus stands was to take over charge of the check posts to collect government fee.

Contractor Haji Ismail offered resistance to the staff and didn’t let them taking over the check posts.
Therefore, on the direction of Commissioner Lahore Dr Mujtaba Piracaha, an operation was conducted by Administrator General Bus Stands Ahmad Raza Butt in coordination with the SSP Operations Lahore and the DSPs and SHOs concerned.
Ahmad Raza Butt told lahoremirror.com that the check posts were finally retrieved from the illegal possession of the previous contractor.
He said retrieved check posts were Babu Sabu Chowk in Sherakot, Bank Stop Near Nishtar Colony Ferozpur Road, Hanjarwal near Old Depot Hanjarwal, Gulshan Ravi Main Road Gulshan Ravi, and Main Raiwind Road in Nawab Town.

The AG said the writ of state was ensured and no person was allowed to collect government fee illegally, adding the action would increase revenue generation of the government and control the illegal money collection by contractor Haji Ismail.— LAHORE MIRROR
