Information Ministry Releases Rs2 Million For Karachi Press Club

The Federal Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has released a grant of Rs. 2 million for the Karachi Press Club . This organization has played an everlasting role in strengthening democracy in the country, DGPID said.

KARACHI– The Federal Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has released a grant of Rs2 million for the Karachi Press Club.

Director-General Pakistan Information Department (PID) Karachi Iram Tanveer on Tuesday visited the Karachi Press Club and the Federal Ministry of Information.

A check of Rs2 million was handed over to the officials of Karachi Press Club on the occasion. President Karachi Press Club Fazil Jamili, Secretary Muhammad Rizwan Bhatti, Joint Secretary Saqib Saghir, Treasurer Waheed Rajpar, Governing Body members Abdul Wasi Qureshi and Farooq Sami were also present on the occasion.

The DGPID while talking to the officials of Karachi Press Club said that Karachi Press Club has historic status. This organization has played an everlasting role in the strengthening of democracy in the country and it has helped the oppressed everywhere.

He said that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will continue to cooperate with the Karachi Press Club. We want all possible steps to be taken for the welfare of journalists. Club President Fazil Jamili and Secretary Mohammad Rizwan Bhatti pledged financial support.

Mutual cooperation between the two could help in building an ideal society. He said that the Karachi Press Club has always supported journalists. Karachi Press Club has the honor of being the first press club in Pakistan.

This club has stood with the democratic forces from the very first day of its establishment. Most of the protests in the country take place in front of this club and one of the reasons for this is the public confidence that the journalists affiliated here perform their duty of conveying the voice of the people to the concerned circles without any pressure. He said that this institution is a canopy for the democratic forces.

Karachi Press Club has raised its voice not only for the journalists but also for all the oppressed sections of life. Fazil Jamili and Mohammad Rizwan Bhatti said that these institutions will grow in collaboration with organizations such as clubs.

The democratic traditions of the Karachi Press Club are a shining example for politicians and institutions across the country. Meanwhile, the DGPID also distributed aid checks by the Federal Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for the treatment of sick journalists of the Karachi Press Club.
