LAHORE MIRROR — The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has made a request to the Sindh Police for data on criminals to be used in a face recognition database at Karachi Airport.
Private TV channel reported that this system, currently operational only at Karachi Airport, has now been connected to the surveillance cameras throughout the airport.
Once active, the face recognition system will alert the monitoring room in case any accused individual is captured by the cameras. FIA authorities have high hopes for this implementation, as it can greatly assist in identifying criminals passing through the airport.
It is pertinent to mention here that that the face recognition system is not yet active in other airports across the country, including those in Islamabad and Lahore. This delay is making the process of identifying accused individuals more challenging in those locations.
