LAHORE MIRROR (Monitoring Desk)– Former Indian cricketer and Punjab cabinet minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu has been communicated to leave the popular television comedy talk show, Kapil Sharma Show, following his comments on the Pulwama terror attack in IOK.
Sidhu will be replaced by Archana Puran Singh on the show, the Indian Express reported.
“His remarks have not been taken kindly by most. Also, the channel and the show was getting dragged into the unwanted controversy. This is when the team amicably decided that Navjot make a distance from the show. The team has already shot a couple of episodes with Archana,” indianexpress.com quoted sources as saying.
Earlier on Friday, while speaking to a media on Pulwama issue, Sindhu said: “Nations cannot be held responsible for the dastardly acts of terrorists. The terrorists don’t have deen, mazhab (sect and religion). There are the good, the bad and the ugly. Every institution has them. Every nation has them. The ugly need to be punished. But individuals cannot be blamed for the dastardly act.”
Sidhu faced severe criticism by Indian social media users who have been demanding his exit from The Kapil Sharma Show.
