Punjab University Takes Out Rally to Express Solidarity With Kashmiris
PU alumni wins Int’l award on depression rehab
LAHORE– A large number of students of Punjab University Laboratory High School took out a rally at New Campus to express solidarity with Kashmiris.
The rally was led by PU Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed in which teachers and administrative officers also participated.
The boys and girls of the school sang national anthem of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and raised slogans against Indian atrocities in Held Kashmir.
Addressing the participants, PU VC Prof Niaz Ahmed said that Prime Minister Imran Khan and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s recent visit to China would considerably contribute in resolution of Kashmir issue. He said that our prime minister and Army officials were visiting various countries so that Kashmiris could get freedom from illegal occupation of India.
He stated that our diplomatic efforts to raise voice of Kashmiris would meet success. He called upon the United Nations to implement its resolutions on Kashmir.
He said that international community had not taken any serious steps to lift curfew from the occupied area and minimize miseries of innocent Kashmiris.
He said that Kashmiris had been deprived of basic facilities of life and they were compelled to bury their relatives’ dead bodies within their homes. He said that Pakistani nation was on one page and stood with the government, Army and Kashmiris.
PU alumni wins Int’l award on depression rehab
Muhammad Hamza Ihtisham, an alumni of Punjab University Department of Electrical Engineering, won 3rd Prize of IEEE IAS CMD Myron Zucker Undergrad Design Contest 2019 for his Design Project named as “Rehabilitation of Depression through Neuro-Feedback System Using EEG Technology” among 160 top countries of the world.
He won this prize on the platform of world’s largest technical organization Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) in Baltimore, Maryland USA.
He made this project with the collaboration of different international research laboratories and completely funded by National Grassroots ICT Research Initiative. Based on this project, Muhammad Hamza delivered 2 TedX Talks at Punjab University and FC College.
This is the one the best and history making project at PU Department of Electrical Engineering which owns international and national collaborations and world-class research at Punjab University. This is 2nd time he won this project competition, in 2018 he also won that competition with 2nd Prize among 160 Countries.
Mr Hamza has thanked his parents, teachers and team members Umer Fayyaz, Muhammad Aqeel Eshan, Usama, Danis, Hareem, Amna, Hamza and Adil for the efforts and encouragement.
PU Department of Electrical Engineering In Charge Dr Azhar Naeem and students’ advisor Dr Kamran Abid, Coordinator Dr Muhammad Kashif Samee have congratulated Mr Hamza on his landmark achievement.
In their statement, they reassured that in order to achieve excellence in research, the department is going to launch MS program very shortly.
They said that the department has also started working to launch PhD program, which will enhance research work. They said such students were bringing good name to the university.— PRESS RELEASE
