Punjab Govt Cares for Visual Impairment from Defective Injections

LAHORE MIRROR – The patients experienced visual impairment as a result of receiving defective injections during their treatment. The Punjab Government has taken the decision to transfer individuals to specialized healthcare hospitals for advanced treatment.

According to official sources, six patients have been relocated to Mayo Hospital in Lahore, while nineteen patients have been moved to Multan. Eight patients were transferred from Khanewal and four from Kasur.

The sources have indicated that patients with more severe eye conditions will be transferred to Lahore for specialized care. Additionally, infection culture tests will be conducted on patients using various laboratory facilities.

It has been noted that the majority of patients initially received prescriptions for home-based treatment. The transfer of patients to appropriate healthcare facilities will be determined by their medical condition.

Meanwhile, the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (PSHD) of Punjab has released data on the patients affected by pink eye infections across the province since its surge began.

In Lahore alone, approximately 3,065 individuals have been affected by conjunctivitis, with 186 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.

Across Punjab, a total of 49,383 patients have been affected by conjunctivitis, including 1,084 new cases in the past 24 hours, with 13 patients affected in Multan.
