LAHORE MIRROR – The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (PSHD) of Punjab has issued safety guidelines for people as cases of pink eye infection continue to surge in various cities across the province.

Anyone can protect themselves from Pink Eye Infection by following the guidelines issued by the health authority.

An advisory from PSHD issued on Monday revealed that Pink Eye is a viral disease that spreads through coughing, sneezing, and touching hands. It typically takes eight to ten days for a person to recover from it.

Lahore has experienced a notable increase in the number of patients infected with conjunctivitis, commonly known as pink eye.

This inflammation affects the transparent membrane lining the eyelid and eyeball, and similar cases were reported in various cities of Sindh, including Karachi.

Symptoms of the infection include increased tear production, eye pain, redness, and itching.

It is advisable for individuals to consult with doctors before using any eye drops to address these symptoms.
