LAHORE MIRROR – The hearing for Imaan Mazari’s bail plea, who is a human rights activist, has been postponed by an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad here on Saturday.
She was arrested in a case linked to expressing views against the state. The court session on Saturday didn’t proceed, and it was rescheduled for August 28.
The plea was heard by ATC duty judge Raja Jawad Abbas as the main judge was not available.
During the hearing, Imaan’s mother, Shireen Mazari, was present in court with her legal representatives.
Earlier, on Thursday, the Islamabad ATC sent Imaan to Adiala Jail for a 14-day judicial remand in connection to a speech that was seen as controversial against state institutions.
Imaan Mazari, the daughter of former human rights minister Shireen Mazari, was arrested on August 20 after she shared on a social media platform that unidentified individuals were attempting to enter her residence.
Ali Wazir, a PTM MNA, was also detained.
