LAHORE– The second preparation review meeting for Baba Guru Nanak Sahib Week Celebrations was held at the Conference Room of Alhamra at Alhamra Arts Centre the Mall on Monday
The meeting was chaired by Punjab Secretary Information Raja Jahangir Anwar. During the meeting, he appreciated the efforts of Info and Culture dept regarding celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Sahib’s birthday week enthusiastically across the province.
It was decided in meeting that “Baba Guru Nanak Sahib Week” will be celebrated from Nov 7 to November 15, 2019.
All the Department of Information and Culture are setting up various programs to celebrate the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Sahib.
On the occasion, provincial Secretary Information Raja Jahangir Anwar was informed at the meeting that Sikh pilgrims from all over the world are coming to Pakistan to participate in Baba Guru Nanak Sahib’s Week long birth celebrations.
Raja Jahangir said that, the Information and Culture Department of Punjab is fully prepared to welcome and inform the Sikh pilgrims about the celebration at Nankana Sahib and Lahore so that the positive image of Pakistan can be further promoted in the world.
He added that all Info and Culture institutions of Punjab should schedule time and date in session with Baba Guru Nanak Week. The purpose of celebrating Baba Guru Nanak Sahib’s Week is to publicize the message of love and peace, he added.
Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Athar Ali Khan said that celebrating Baba Guru Nanak sahib Week will further enhance the soft image of Pakistan around the world.
He stated that Lahore Arts will utilize all the resources to celebrate Baba Guru Nanak Sahib Week, during the week different programs like Sufi music concerts and seminars will be held at Alhamra Arts Council.
Executive Director Punjab Arts Council Saman Rai said that Sikh pilgrims who are coming to Pakistan from all over the world to celebrate 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Sahib, will be also invited at Guru Nanak Sahib’s Week celebration at all Arts Council across the Punjab.— PRESS HANDOUT
