LAHORE– Chief Secretary Punjab Major (retired) Azam Suleman Khan met with US Consul General in Lahore Ms Catherine Rodrigues at his office on Thursday.
Promotion of bilateral relations and matters of mutual interests were discussed during the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary said that there are vast business opportunities in Punjab and work on economic zones in the province continued under the supervision of Industries Department.
He mentioned that IT is being used to improve governance and performance of departments, adding that process of digitization has been initiated to ensure transparency in the system.
Ms Catherine Rodrigues said that the US gives great importance to its relations with Pakistan and is willing to bolster the bilateral ties between two countries.
She also assured the Chief Secretary of providing full support in progress of Punjab. Souvenirs were exchanged at the end of the meeting. Political and Economic Chief Barry Junker was also present during the meeting.— PRESS RELEASE
