LAHORE MIRROR – Shaheen Shah Afridi, Pakistani Cricket Star, Celebrates his Wedding with Ansha Afridi in a Karachi Ceremony
The 23-year-old fast bowler recently wedded Ansha Afridi, the second daughter of former Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi, in an intimate nikah ceremony earlier this year.
For the Rukhsati (seeing off) event, Shaheen arrived at the local hotel venue with his family and friends. Prominent figures from the cricket world, including Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, as well as former cricketers like Misbah-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwar, Sohail Khan, and Tanveer Ahmed, were also in attendance.
Shaheen was impeccably dressed in a crisp white kurta, straight trousers, a gold-embellished prince coat, and brown loafers, showcasing his debonair style. Meanwhile, Babar sported a navy blue prince coat and pants, complemented by black loafers.
Shahid Afridi, the father-in-law, donned a fawn-coloured kurta and trousers with a brown waistcoat.
A mehndi event, part of the pre-wedding celebrations, took place at the Afridi residence the night before, attended by close relatives and friends.
The couple had been engaged for two years before tying the knot, and their Valima ceremony is scheduled for September 21 in Islamabad.
In an interview, Shaheen shared that he was the one who first considered marrying Ansha. He attributed the match to the long-standing friendship between his family and Shahid Afridi’s, with both families readily agreeing to the proposal.

When asked about their first meeting, Shaheen couldn’t pinpoint a specific moment since they had known each other for some time. He expressed gratitude for having a life partner who appreciates and supports him, despite not being overly involved in his career.
