Punjab Ombudsman Evaluates Pending Cases of Advisers and Consultants from Lahore

LAHORE– The process of phase wise performance evaluation meetings of advisers and consultants is continued in the office of Ombudsman Punjab. Second meeting in this regard was held in his office, which was attended by all advisors and consultants of Lahore.

In order to review the phase wise performance of all advisors regarding the pending cases of their respective offices, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Ombudsman Punjab Major (R) Azam Suleman Khan in his office. All advisors and consultants of Lahore attended this meeting.

The participants briefed the Ombudsman Punjab about their fortnightly performance regarding the settled and pending cases in their relevant domains. It was revealed that 80 percent of their cases have been resolved whereas 20 percent yet to be handled due to non-cooperation of the concerned departments.

Major (R) Azam Suleman Khan took serious notice of this situation highlighted by the advisors on this occasion. Ombudsman Punjab directed the advisors to inform this office regarding such non-cooperation extended by various Government departments due to which the cases lying pending.

After receiving such information by them Ombudsman Punjab will directly call the heads of these departments in person to expedite all kind of pendency.

It was also decided in the meeting that specially the advisors to deal with Health, Education, Revenue, WASA and Police must club the complaints of these departments before calling them so that the valuable time of both departments could be saved.

The Ombudsman Punjab also directed the IT Wing to launch a new mobile application through which the advisors can receive timely Red Alert, generated by Head Office with a spirit to expedite the timely settlement of the pending cases in their respective areas.

The meeting also decided to start the refresher courses of IT to enhance the capacity building of the supporting staff of advisors. Recommendations regarding the registration of rickshaw and drivers will be sent to the Transport Department, decided by the Ombudsman Punjab.

Major (R) Azam Suleman Khan further directed the advisors to perform their duties with honesty and diligently to provide relief to the complainants and the slow performers in this regard will be dropped out.— PRESS RELEASE
