LAHORE MIRROR — The categories for Pakistani players in the 9th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have been announced.
Imad Wasim, leading Karachi Kings in PSL 8, retains the Platinum category, while top-order batter Tahir Tahir moves up to the Gold category from the previous season’s Silver category.
Young all-rounder Qasim Akram advances to the Gold category from the Emerging category, and fast bowler Mohammad Musa moves up from Silver to Gold. All-rounder Shoaib Malik and fast bowler Mohammad Amir are listed in the Diamond category.
Qasim Akram, Tahir Tahir, Mohammad Musa, along with all-rounders Amir Yamin and Shoaib Malik, top-order batters Sharjeel Khan and Haider Ali, and left-arm fast bowler Mir Hamza, are also part of the Gold category.
Fast bowlers Aaqib Javed and Mohammad Omar are in the Silver category. Additionally, Mohammad Ikhlaq, the wicketkeeper-batsman for Karachi Kings in the last season’s final match, is included in the Silver category.
In the Emerging category for Karachi Kings, Irfan Khan Niazi and Faisal Akram are listed for this season. The registration for overseas players for PSL 9 began on October 25, 2023. The PSL Draft 2023 is expected to take place in mid-December, while HBL PSL 8 is scheduled to be played from February 8 to March 24.
