LAHORE MIRROR — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed criticism of being linked to the establishment, asserting that his interaction with the army chief was solely aimed at advancing the country together with the government and establishment.

“I was labeled as the establishment’s ally, but such criticisms didn’t bother me. Let me be clear: my meetings with army chiefs were never driven by personal interests. The sole purpose behind those interactions was to foster a collective effort between the establishment and the government to propel our country towards progress and development.”

Speaking at an Islamabad ceremony here on Thursday, he highlighted the importance of developmental projects, citing the Bara Kahu underpass as an example, and emphasized the need for difficult decisions to foster prosperity. The project, envisioned during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure, faced delays after his government was removed, but Shehbaz Sharif remains committed to advancing the nation’s development despite challenges.
