Plane Crash: Airbus Team Reaches Karachi To Assist In ‘Investigation’

LAHORE MIRROR (Monitoring Desk)– An Airbus team is arriving shortly in Karachi today to assist in the investigation of the PIA plane crash that had killed over 90 people and damaged several houses and vehicles.

The team will visit the site at Model Colony area adjacent to the Jinnah International Airport as shifting of plane debris from the site was earlier stopped.

The management of the Airbus has also expressed profound grief over the PIA plane crash.

It is to be noted that 97 people were killed while two passengers survived when a PIA flight coming from Lahore to Karachi crashed in the Model Colony in Malir area near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

The bodies of 34 people out of the 97 killed in the incident have been identified and handed over to heirs, whereas the process of the bodies’ identification through DNA test is underway.

A seven-member investigation team of PIA also visited the plane crash site and started investigation into the incident.

The team equipped with modern equipment also inspected the damaged building.

Investigators find voice data recorder

Investigations team have reportedly found the ‘voice date recorder’ from the Pakistan International Airlines plane (PIA) that crashed on Friday.

Sources said the voice data recorder of the PIA flight PK-8303 was found at the crash site in Karachi on Monday. The black box and the voice data recorder will be handed over to a team of Airbus to determine the cause of the plane crash.

Earlier today, a seven-member investigation team of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had inspected the plane crash site.

The team will estimate the cost of loss and prepare report of the mishap. Damages to the nearby buildings and houses will also be examined with the help of latest equipment. The final report will be forwarded to the federal government.

Officials of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and local administration had also been present on the occasion.

Crash survivor discharged from hospital

The spokesman of Sindh government, Murtaza Wahab said one of the two survivors of the unfortunate PIA PK-8303 flight crash, Muhammad Zubair has been discharged from the hospital.
