Plan Devised For Karachi Beautification To Highlight Its Cultural Values: Laiq

KARACHI– Administrator Karachi Laiq Ahmed has said that a master plan has been prepared for beautification of different areas of Karachi, underpasses, flyovers, overpasses (pedestrian bridges) and major highways, with the cooperation of various companies and institutions.

The process of beautification of the city will be started, with the involvement of the private sector, the latest techniques and ideas prevalent in the world will be used in the soft branding of Karachi, he said while addressing a meeting on beautification of Karachi on Monday.

Khalid Khan, Senior Director Coordination, Shabiha Al Hasnain Zaidi, Director General Technical Services, Taha Saleem, Director General Parks and Horticulture, Faiz Qadwai, Sohail Ahmed and people from various institutions were also present on the occasion.

He said that it was necessary to improve the sewerage system in the underpasses of Karachi because if the sewerage and storm water drainage system in the underpasses was not fixed then its beautification would not be of any importance and he would seek the cooperation of those institutions with creative minds. Roads, highways, bridges and underpasses need to be kept in good condition to provide facilities to the citizens, said Administrator Karachi Laiq Ahmed, adding that the master plan for beautification of the city also takes into account the needs of different areas.
