LAHORE MIRROR – Due to a shoulder injury, Pakistani pacer Naseem Shah may miss the entire ICC World Cup 2023, scheduled to commence in India next month.

According to media reports on Monday, the injury to Shah’s right shoulder appears to be more severe than initially suspected.

The report stated, “Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah is likely to miss the entire World Cup after scans revealed a more serious injury to his right shoulder than originally anticipated.

The PCB is currently seeking a second opinion, but initial scans conducted in Dubai indicate that the injury could keep him sidelined for the rest of the year.”

“If subsequent tests confirm the initial findings, the 20-year-old Naseem faces a prolonged period of recovery, raising doubts about his participation in the Test series in Australia early next year.

His availability for the upcoming Pakistan Super League is also uncertain,” the report added.
