LAHORE MIRROR — The Pakistan Embassy in the United States (US) has dispelled the reports that claimed that Pakistani Americans are being refused visas to visit their homeland.
The Pakistani embassy’s clarification came following the US State Department’s press briefing regarding the rejection of visas for Pakistani Americans wishing to travel to Pakistan. “There is no truth to the rumours. This is a misinformation and disinformation,” the spokesperson for the embassy clarified.
Principal Deputy Spokesperson for the US State Department, Vedant Patel, responded to the question by stating, “I’m not aware. This obviously would be – if there were to be any issues that arise in this area, certainly something for Pakistani consular officials to speak to and not anything as it relates to the State Department, so we’ll just leave it at that.”
Following this, a spokesperson for the Pakistani embassy reassured Pakistani Americans and other overseas Pakistanis of their warm welcome to visit their homeland.

The official emphasized that the embassy is committed to providing comprehensive consular assistance, including visas, to overseas Pakistanis.
“We encourage Pakistani-Americans to visit Pakistan either by using their National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) or by obtaining visas if they so desire.

Visas can be obtained from the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC or from our four Consulates General located in New York, Chicago, Houston, and Los Angeles.

Additionally, visa requests are processed online 24/7. Therefore, there should be no cause for concern,” the embassy stated, assuring a hassle-free process for those wishing to travel to Pakistan
