Ombudsman Punjab Extends More Than Rs40M Financial Relief to Complainants

LAHORE– Payments against acquired lands, financial assistance, pension cases, and other pending cases of payments have been resolved on different applications received by the Ombudsman Punjab Office.

Relief of over Rs40 million has been provided to the complainants in the past six months.

The process of relief provision by Ombudsman Punjab Major (retired) Azam Suleman Khan is in progress.

The biggest relief of the period was provided to Nasir Ali, a resident of ChakSheikhanadistrict Jhang against the payment of his land which was acquired by the Communication& Highways Department to construct a road from Sargodha to Jhang-Chiniot Road.

The complainant requested in his application that his land was acquired but he was still deprived of the payment of his land. On the directions of the Ombudsman Punjab, Nasir Aligot his payment of 1 crore 45 lac and 2 thousand rupees by the Communication & Highways Department on the prevailing rates.

Similarly, a resident of Multan, Pathani Mayi whose husband Mazhar Abbas worked as chowkidarin boys high school Multan who was died during service. PathaniMayi requested to Ombudsman Punjab for the payment of the financial assistance which was 33 lac 92 thousand 5 hundred and 70 rupees as per rules. Her application was sympathetically considered and reviewed for the payment which was finally made to PathaniMayi.

In another application filed by Dr. Zulfiqar Syed as Librarian from Govt. College of Commerce Qasimpur Colony Multan, claimed that he was deprived of his pension dues and allowances. He submitted so many applications in the concerned accounts department to made such payments but no action was done so far.

On the directions of the Ombudsman Punjab, he was paid 30 lac 59 thousand 3 hundred and 15 rupees against his pension dues with the cooperation of the Ombudsman Punjab.

A major relief amounting rupees 3 crore 28 lac 97 thousand 4 hundred and 11 has also been provided in other 18 different cases pertaining to financial assistance gratuity and death grant.— PRESS RELEASE
