NHMP’s Uthal Sector Organises Road Safety Seminar, Helmet Campaign

HUB/UTHAL– On the directions of Nationa Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) Allah Dino Khawaja and under supervision of DIG Ali Sher Jhakrani, the Uthal Sector organised a Road Safety seminar at DG Cement Factory in Hub on Monday.

The DIG also inaugurated safety helmet and back view mirror campaign at Hub toll plaza.

Sector Commander Uthal Shah Asad led the seminar and helmet campaign. During the seminar at DG Cement Factory, a large number of officers and officials of factory were present. The participants were briefed about defensive driving and road safety rules.

While addressing the participants of seminar and during Safety Helmet Campaign DIG Ali Sher Jhakrani said that in Pakistan thousands of people die every year in road crashes and motorcyclists are major contributors in them.

Head injury is major cause of death, serious injury and disability among bike riders and it can be avoided by use of standard safety helmets, following traffic rules and adopting road safety measures.

At start of the campaign back view mirrors were installed at motorcyclists and safety helmets were distributed free of cost among road users.

The motorcyclists were briefed about other safety tips necessary while riding a bike. During the campaign it was asserted that safety helmet is not only mandatory for bike rider but also for pillion rider too.

Motorcyclists were also briefed to install back view mirror, drive at slow pace at extreme left of the road, avoid using mobile phone and triple riding.

At this occasion Sector Commander Uthal Shah Asad said that said that use of back view mirrors and safety helmet could greatly help in saving loss of precious lives and property.

He further said that we will have to realize our responsibility and follow traffic and road safety rules because the anguish faced by heirs of road crash victims is beyond description.— PRESS RELEASE
