NAB Distributes 246 Possession Letters of New Houses Among Affectees

LAHORE– The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore organized third ceremony on Friday to hand over possession letters of M, L and N blocks among the affecttees of Khayaban-i-Amin Housing society.

Deputy Prosecutor General Accountability (DPGA) Khaleeq-uz-Zaman and Director Investigation Ahtram Dar participated as chief guests of the ceremony.

According to the details, the third ceremony in this connection was organized by NAB Lahore authorities to hand over 246 Possession Letters (PL) of newly constructed houses worth Rs 1.2Billion among the affectees of Khayaban-i-Amin Housing Society.

Earlier in May this year around 1700 affectees were given PL letters of Plots and Houses in said Society amounting to Rs 7 Billion (approx), whereas, in October last year hundreds of other affectees received  PLs of Rs 4Bn.

While addressing with the affectees, Director Ahtram Dar said that it is only due to the tireless efforts of NAB Lahore’s Officers that thousands of affectees have been benefitted.

He further maintained that in compliance with the advice from Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal and Director General NAB Lahore that NAB’s priority is to recover looted money from culprits and to deliver the same among affectees of Housing Sector without any delay which is rather better than putting any accused behind the bar without recovery of any penny.

He said that NAB’s Awareness and Prevention (A&P) Wing is working to restrict crime before its happening. We are working to make bound every Housing Society administration to display Society Map and complete details of it at the front Gate as awareness for public.

DPGA, Ch Khaleeq uz Zaman said that it is due to the existing loop holes in our system that innocent people get trapped and bear loss, whereas, it is also because of the irresponsibility of general public that they invest hefty amounts in such illegal societies.

He said, the stake holders are the actual accountable for the loss of public money. Pointing towards owners of Khayaban-i-Amin Society, he reminded them of the fact that they are on conditional bail and would face the music if they fail to deliver according to the promises.

At the end, affectees expressed their gratitude to the Chairman NAB and DG NAB Lahore for the redressal of their loss and also admired the efforts of NAB Officers for their efforts.— PRESS RELEASE
