LAHORE– Punjab Minister for Literacy Raja Rashid Hafeez has said the department’s aim is to illuminate the candles of knowledge in all backward and remote areas of the province.
He added all focus of the Department is on education of children who are deprived of education due to poverty.
The minister said that the department of Literacy is providing enormous support to enhance the enrollment of children in schools.
Despite limited resources, teachers are enrolling their children in nursery-to-fifth classes. The Minister expressed his views to the delegation of the Literacy and School Education Sindh.
Secretary Literacy Department Arif Anwar Baloch and the representatives of UNICEF and JICA were also present on the occasion.
The officials of the Literacy department apprised the delegation about various ongoing projects in Punjab.
The briefings were also given on the performance of the Literacy institutes for monitoring teachers and centers.— PRESS HANDOUT
