LDA Avenue-I Affectees Get Possession Letters Worth Rs4.5 Billion
LAHORE—The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore held a ceremony on Wednesday to hand over Possession Letters (PLs) worth Rs4.5billion (approx) among the affectees of the LDA Avenue-I project.
The ceremony was grace as Chief Guest by Director Investigation, NAB Lahore and was also attended by senior NAB Officers and hundreds of affectees of LDA Avenue-I Project.
The NAB Lahore has been facilitating to give away 623 PLs worth Rs4.5 B among affectees of the project in first phase.
As per the case details, booking of Plots in LDA Avenue-I Project was launched in 2002 which had been facing a prolong delay in finalization of said project. While in current year, numerous affectees of LDA Avenue-I project approached NAB Lahore for redressal of their losses.
Following the directions of Chairman NAB, Justice Javed Iqbal regarding resolution of cases involving public money, Director General NAB Lahore initiated the case proceedings without causing any delay.
Moreover, under the supervision of DG NAB Lahore, monitoring of the project proceedings was continued and obstacles being faced to the concerned developing department were thoroughly handled through holding multiple ‘Review Briefings’ and issuing instructions in this regard.
Chairman NAB, Justice Javed Iqbal has vehemently advised for focusing early resolution of problems being faced by general public “particularly” in Housing Sector or cheating public at large matters.
In this regard, NAB Lahore has, so far, facilitated more than 54000 affectees in Housing Sector only by returning them their looted money, Plots and Houses etc.
NAB considers public welfare as a duty bestowed from Almighty. NAB Officers and officials are working day and night to ease remaining 1350 (approx) affectees of LDA Avenue-I project.— PRESS RELEASE
