Lahore Arts Council to Start ‘Right to Information and Right to Service Campaign For Women, Youth

LAHORE– The Lahore Arts Council and GIZ Support to Local Governance Program have agreed to inform the public on “Right to Information and Right to Service.” The public will be provided information related to “Right to Information and Right to Service” through entertainment. Several important decisions were taken in the meeting chaired by Executive Director Alhamra Farhat Jabeen.

Executive Director Alhamra Farhat Jabeen said that under the program “Access,” the women and youth will be specially informed about their rights. Initially, the program will be launched in Lahore, Khanewal, Gojra, Sheikhupura, and Mandi Bahauddin. Jabeen added that the people would be made aware of their rights through drama, music, and art, which would enhance the beauty of social life.

Director Art and Culture Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi said that the program would include 68 information seminars, street theaters, live shows, social media campaigns, radio, TV shows, and other activities. It should be noted that under the agreement of Alhamra with GIZ Support to Local Governance Program, seven Lac people will benefit from the awareness campaign in the next one and half years. The meeting was attended by the Information Commission, Punjab Information Technology Board, Local Government, FC College, and other institutions’ representatives.
