Parking Fee At Zulfiqarabad Oil Tankers Terminal Has Been Reduced To Rs400: Laiq

KARACHI– Administrator Karachi Laiq Ahmed has said that the parking fee at Zulfiqarabad Oil Tankers Terminal has been reduced to Rs 400 and additional charges for parking of oil tankers have been postponed for the next six months after 24 hours, Zulfiqarabad Oil Tankers Terminal.

Proceeds from the project will be spent on improving its infrastructure, construction of the terminal will begin in July, construction of a link road, and other works will be completed on a priority basis, including the construction of 1,500 shops.

Administrator Karachi Laiq Ahmed said that in the budget of the next financial year, several schemes have been set up for this terminal. Among other facilities, fire brigade and civil engineers will also be deployed here, he said. Asking Pakistanis and citizens of Karachi to contribute to the completion of this most important project so that the objectives of its establishment can be achieved, he said that before implementing the entry fee, the Oil Tankers Terminal About 700 tankers were being parked daily in Karachi but after the imposition of parking fee by the Karachi Metropolitan Municipality, the tanker owners stopped parking tankers here and illegally on National Highway, Shereen Jinnah Colony, and other places.

Tankers have started to be parked while there are clear orders of the Supreme Court that tankers cannot be parked in these places under any circumstances. Therefore, following the directions of the Supreme Court, oil tankers should be parked in Zulfiqarabad Oil Tankers Terminal where tankers parking and other facilities have been provided to the deceased, he said, adding that the purpose for which the terminal has been set up will be fulfilled only when all the tankers will be fully parked here, liaison with all stakeholders in this regard and we do our best to complete all matters as soon as possible in accordance with the court orders and rules, oil tanker owners park their tankers here and avail all facilities, oil tankers owners, drivers and others in this oil tankers parking terminal.

The terminal has the capacity to park 3200 oil tankers while infrastructure is available for (10) ten thousand people, out of 200 acres, 150 acres have been allotted for parking of oil tankers and 50 acres for other facilities.

128 toilets including the mosque, ablution room, canteen, rescue unit have been constructed, spacious space allotted for parking of tankers as well as other facilities including spare parts for vehicles and tanker repairing shops have also been provided here while 54 inches. There is also a Qatar water line and an underground capacity of 150,000 gallons and an upper tank of 60,000 gallons.
