IG Punjab Chaired Session With Respect To IT Projects At Central Police Office
LAHORE — Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastagir said the concept of modern policing is not possible without effective use of information technology, therefore, for improving the performance of IT projects of Punjab police especially Police Station Record Management System, Criminal Record Management System and Hotel Eye along with other projects.
The process of upgradation should be continued and Geo Fencing and Forensic Science should be benefitted for elimination and investigation of heinous crimes, he added.
He further said that the projects launched for facilitation of public, performance of front desk, police Khidmat Marakiz and 8787 complaint management system should be more effective and public complaints received here should be resolved within given time frame so that issues of the citizens may be solved on preferential basis.
He moreover added that, website of Punjab Police should be made more easy and effective for facilitation and coordination of the citizens with provision of required information without delay, whereas for improving projects for public facilitation, special attention should be given for monitoring and inspection of these projects.
He further said that special attention should be given on global portal of Khidmat Markaz and it should be made more easy and useful for overseas Pakistanis with required upgradations. He further added that, more information technology projects based upon parameters of Khidmat Marakiz should be planned whereas new software and modules should be prepared for operational and investigation duties.
These views were expressed by him while he was directing to officers in a plenary session held at central police office.
DIG IT Waqas Nazeer briefed IG Punjab about performance of different projects operating by police and told that Punjab Police is effectively utilizing information technology for crime control and public service delivery as devised by rules of community policing by which elimination of criminals have been speeded up and mutual cooperation between public and police is also being improved.
IG Punjab while directing to officers said that modern technology should be utilized for eliminating and investigating heinous crimes so that the accused may be taken behind the bars in minimum time and the process of their punishments should be quickened.
He further added that for increasing the effectiveness of working of police stations, all proceedings should be done in accordance with the issued SOPs of Police station record management and all officers in all districts should keep close coordination with their respective IT incharges.
