LAHORE MIRROR – The Final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 is set to take place between Spain and England at the Stadium Australia in Sydney on Sunday, August 20th. The match is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 pm Pakistan Standard Time.

The Spain vs England FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 football final will be available on live streaming and telecast live globally on various support TVs. The match is scheduled to start at 3:30 PM IST.

Both Spain and England are playing their maiden FIFA Women’s World Cup final. Sunday’s final will also see a new women’s football world champion emerge since Japan won the trophy in 2011.

A win for either team will also make them only the second nation to clinch both the men’s and the women’s World Cups after Germany.

Spain, sixth in the FIFA women’s rankings, finished second in Group C after losing to table-toppers Japan. La Roja, earlier, defeated Costa Rica and Zambia in their first two group matches.

In the knockouts, the Spain women’s football team defeated Switzerland before knocking out the Netherlands in extra time. Spain sealed a place in the final with a hard-fought victory over Sweden in the semis.

En route to the final, Spain scored 17 goals with Aitana Bonmati, Jennifer Hermoso, and Alba Redondo contributing three goals each. They have conceded seven times and have kept two clean sheets in six matches.

World No. 4 England came into the competition after winning the 2022 women’s Euros. The Lionesses, on their way to the FIFA World Cup 2023 final, topped Group D with wins over Haiti, Denmark, and the People’s Republic of China.

In the round of 16, the England women’s football team ousted Nigeria via a penalty shootout and then beat Colombia and co-hosts Australia in the quarters and semis, respectively.

In their six matches, the Millie Bright-captained side has scored 13 goals while conceding just three. Lauren Hemp, Lauren James and Alesia Russo have scored three goals each in the competition.
