LAHORE MIRROR – A Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has interrogated Imran Khan, the incarcerated Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in connection with the Cablegate saga.

This case revolves around a cipher document that Khan alleges contains details of a United States-backed threat against his government. The incident came to light on Wednesday.

During a public gathering in Islamabad on March 27, 2022, Khan presented a letter as evidence of an “international conspiracy” with US involvement aimed at destabilizing his administration.

Last month, the FIA questioned the former prime minister for nearly two hours following the Lahore High Court’s decision to lift a stay order on the FIA’s call-up notice. This notice was related to an audio leak involving a US diplomatic cable.

The FIA initiated the investigation against Khan for allegedly disclosing a confidential diplomatic cable and retaining possession of it.

Today, FIA’s Counter-Terrorism Wing filed a case concerning the “missing cipher” from the Prime Minister’s Office official record. Sources confirm that Khan was interrogated by the JIT in Attock jail on Tuesday. The JIT met with Khan in the office of the deputy superintendent jail, as per FIA sources.”
