LAHORE MIRROR – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) anti-human smuggling unit has apprehended four human smugglers in Islamabad.

According to reports, FIA conducted a raid on human smugglers and apprehended the ringleader of their group, Faisal Lateef, from E-11, along with Sudais Ali, Osama Khalid, and Zaid Abbas from the F-8 Sector of Islamabad.

These individuals were arrested due to their involvement in illegally trafficking citizens to Europe, with routes passing through Turkey and Iran, stated FIA officials.

The FIA spokesperson added that more than 12 passports and several stamps were recovered during the operation.

Previously, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) reported the arrest of the leader of a human trafficking gang in Gujrat.

FIA detained the suspect, Muhammad Saleem Sunyara, who was linked to a Greece boat tragedy resulting in numerous casualties, including Pakistanis.

The suspect was involved in facilitating the illegal migration of Pakistanis abroad by sending money to his brother, Muhammad Asif Sunyara, through Hundi and Hawala channels.

It is worth mentioning that an Italy-bound fishing trawler, reportedly carrying at least 800 people, including hundreds of Pakistanis, capsized off the coast of Greece.

Tragically, only 104 people are known to have survived, and the likelihood of finding additional survivors was deemed extremely low.
