LAHRE– The Water and Development Authority (WAPDA) authorities have recently promoted senior pharmacist Farasat Qamar as Director Pharmacy.
Mr Qamar, who is M.Phil in Pharmacology and Bachelors in Pharmacy, had joined WAPDA medical services as Assistant Director Pharmacy in 2005.
He got promotion as Deputy Director Pharmacy in 2013. With his career spanning around 16 years Mr Qamar was promoted as Director Pharmacy (BPS 19) on 18th May 2021.
During this tenure, he introduced several new concepts including automation of pharmacy stores, development of software for tendering of medicine and system development for the procurement of medical equipment.
Beside these novel and unique activities the officer also focused on the development of interpersonal and management skills.
Mr Qamar got distinctions in the junior management course and the intensive management training courses arranged by WAPDA.
He has won several performance awards. Mr Qamar is also credited with arranging several training courses for medical officers as well as specialist doctors.
