DC Saleha Saeed Pays Storming Visits to Supervise Rain Water Removal From Roads

LAHORE– In view of rainy season, the District Administration Lahore made alert in advance to all departments and directed WASA, LWMC and MCL field staff to ensure immediate pumping out of water gathered on different roads due to torrential rain which continued with internals in the provincial capital on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner Lahore Saleha Saeed has already directed all departments in a pre-monsoon meeting of following all set procedures at the time of rain.

In Tuesday’s rain, WASA staff functionalized dewatering pumps at the start of rain and directed assistant commissioners to remain in the field for the mentoring of water drainage.

Deputy Commissioner Lahore Saleha saeed herself remained in the field and she paid storming visits to Laksmi chowk, Baber market, Outfall road, Anarkali and other areas and supervised dewatering process. She also appealed the citizen not to come out of their homes unnecessarily and warned them not to sit under weak and bad conditioned roofs and walls.

She also asked them not to go near to electrical wires. On the other side District Administration has issued a report of water removal from different roads, saying that WASA and MCL under the supervision of district administration drained out water from 22 important roads till 12 pm noon.

“All the officers of District Administration are in field, ensuring the immediate pumping out of rain water from sore points which have already been identified by the WASA before the start of monsoon.

District Administration is in touch with met office and consistently getting information of imminent rain” Ms. Saleha added.

Deputy Commissioner Lahore also directed all assistant commissioners to remain in the field till the complete de watering of rain water stagnant on diverse roads and thoroughly focus on the low lying areas of their jurisdictions.
