LAHORE MIRROR – The Lahore High Court issued an order on Thursday, instructing the police to present PTI leader Hassaan Niazi in court if he is under their custody. The court also requested a response from Lahore CCPO and IG Punjab in relation to a case involving his alleged arrest.

Justice Sultan Tanveer presided over the petition filed by Hassaan’s father, Hafeezullah Niazi. In the petition, Hafeezullah Niazi urged the court to release his son and ensure his appearance before the court.

Hassaan was taken into custody from Abbottabad two days prior and subsequently handed over to the Quetta police.

The police were pursuing Hassaan in connection with the events of May 9. The arrest of Imran Khan from the premises of Islamabad High Court on that day led to violent protests.

The court mandated that the police must produce Hassaan before the court if he is in their custody. Additionally, the IGP and CCPO were directed to provide a response by August 18.

As per information from Lahore police, Hassaan was wanted in the Jinnah House (Lahore Corps Commanders House) vandalism case. A communication has been sent to the Home Department of Balochistan to facilitate his transfer to Lahore. The Quetta police are expected to bring him to Lahore following the appropriate legal procedures, they further explained.
