RAWALPINDI– Senior bureaucrat Khurram Humayun from 14 Common of Civil Service was found dead with a bullet wound to his head at his residence in Rawat area of Rawalpindi on Tuesday, police said
Humayun, a BS-22 officer, was working as Controller General of Accounts.
Police suspected the victim might have committed suicide for reasons yet to be ascertained.
Sources in the federal government are linking the ‘suicide’ with an ongoing inquiry into the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
The victim was reportedly upset over his immediate family issues, they further add. Humayun shared some thoughts in his WhatsApp group of 14th Common officers before the incident.
