FIA Arrests Eight Chinese Nationals In Pakistan For Trafficking Girls

LAHORE– The Federal Investigation Agency has busted a racket of Chinese nationals involved in trafficking Pakistani girls to China by contracting marriages and forcing them for prostitution.

Deputy Director FIA Jamil Ahmad Khan Mayo said on Monday that the authorities, as part of a crackdown against foreigners involved in illegal activities in the country, apprehended eight Chinese nationals from Lahore airport and other areas on the charges of trafficking young women to China after marrying them.

According to the official, the suspects, with the assistance of Pakistani agents, contracted marriages with unsuspecting local girls and then trafficked them to China where the victims were forced into prostitution.

The accused include a Chinese woman as well, he added.

Previously, police personnel had confiscated travel documents of a Chinese man in Mandi Bahauddin and launched inquiry for tricking his Pakistani wife.

Mandi Bahauddin District Police Officer Nasir Sial said the team is investigating the matter under all legal aspects.
