E-Passport Issuance: Fee Structure Unveiled
LAHORE MIRROR — The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, operating under the Ministry of Interior, has initiated the issuance of e-passports from all passport offices nationwide, following their successful launch in Islamabad earlier this year.
The commencement of e-passport issuance in the federal capital occurred in June. During the event, the then-interior minister, Rana Sanaullah, unveiled the extension of this facility, which was initially restricted to diplomatic and government officials. This service was first made available to residents of Islamabad and was subsequently planned for expansion to other regions.
On July 25, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports utilized the platform X, previously known as Twitter, to announce a significant milestone – the printing and dispatch of the first-ever passport application submitted through the Inland Online Application process.
