Hina Parvez Butt, a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has decided to take action against an assault incident in London. She plans to report the harassment to the city’s police and press charges against the attackers on Tuesday.

During a private family outing in London, the former lawmaker was subjected to harassment by a group of individuals presumed to be supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). A video capturing the incident showed the assailants throwing a bottle and verbally abusing Butt, sparking strong backlash on Twitter.

In response, the PML-N leader is pursuing legal recourse against the attackers. It’s worth noting that the assault occurred while Butt was with her son.

Another video from the incident depicted a man carrying a PTI flag among the group, hurling insults at Butt while her visibly distressed son was present.

Hina Parvez Butt took to social media, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday, condemning her attackers. She wrote, “Rude and unruly PTI people have stooped to the extent of assaulting me in front of my son in London, throwing bottles at me and hurling foul abuse at me. Are these uncivilized people making Pakistan’s name bright or defaming it?”

The video quickly gained traction online, with widespread condemnation of the reprehensible act. Many users acknowledged that while political differences exist, such behavior crosses a line.

Prominent figures, including politicians and journalists, expressed strong condemnation on the microblogging site.

This incident is not isolated, as similar occurrences have taken place before. Former Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb faced harassment in a coffee shop last September, and former Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal also experienced mistreatment at the hands of PTI supporters.
