Lahore Police Busted Robbers’ Gang Involved in Bank Heists in Karachi, CCPO Tells Media

LAHORE– Capital City Police Officer Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has said that Lahore Police have been utilizing all its human and logistic resources to make the provincial capital a more safer and peaceful city.

He stated this while addressing a press conference today held at the Conference Room of Capital City Police Headquarters Lahore. DIG Investigation Shariq Jamal, DIG Operations Sajid Kiani, SSP CIA Shoaib Khurram Janbaaz, SSP Operations Ahsan Saif Ullah, SP Sadar Hafeez ur Rehman Bugti and other senior police officers attended the press conference.

CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar informed media about the successful operation of th CIA Lahore to arrest a 14-member Inter-provincial Banks dacoit gang involved in looting various banks of Karachi.

Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said In Charge CIA Police Model Town Syed Hussain Haider, in supervision of SSP Organized Crime CIA Lahore Shoaib Khurram Jan’baz busted a most wanted notorious Pathan Gang involved in various dacoity incidents in Karachi.

Gang leader Laiq Hussain was most wanted particularly in bank dacoity incidents by Karachi police. Other gang members including Zahid Khan, Haji Farid khan, Khalid khan, Sadiq Ali, Kamran Haidri, Kamran alias Kammi with support of their Lahore based facilitators Waqar Ahmad, Shoaib, Kamran alias Fouji, Muhammad Usman, Sunni Hakim, Muhammad Shakil and Muhammad Iqbal had been planning to rob some banks of Lahore during Eid ul Fitr vacations.

Criminals gang

Zahid khan, Sadiq ali and Kamran Haidri had been doing recky of various banks of lahore including different branches of National Saving Centres and The Bank of Punjab as well as National Bank of Pakistan. The criminals had done recky of as many as seven banks of Lahore during last four months.

These criminal during their robbery attempts in Karachi, used to select only those banks with lockers facilities and broke into the same during holidays or vacation days when the bank guard went out to get his meal from the market. These robbers used to tie the bank guard with ropes.

They cut the bank lockers with the help of gas cylinders and looted the jewelry, cash and valuables. After their robbery attempts the dacoits used to flee to tribal areas. The accused have committed robberies in several banks of Karachi worth more than 1.34 billions rupees.

Police have recovered Rs3.5 million as well as four pistols , an auto rickshaw, 02 motorcycles and a car along with gas cylinders, cutter and other gadgets used in breaking bank lockers. Saddar division police arrested a four members gang involved in incidents of kidnapping for ransom and extortion.

While giving details CCPO Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said the arrested criminals had kidnapped a trader Adnan Yaseen of Azam Cloth Market three years back and released the abducted trader after receiving ransom money worth 50 lakh. The same gang members again called trader Adnan through a whats app call made by Somalian sim and demanded further amount of 20 lakh rupees from him.

The criminals threatened to kill the trader failing in providing the said ransom money. SP Sadar Division Hafeez ur Rehman Bugti constituted a team in supervision of SHO Green Town who arrested the gang members using latest technology and professional skills.

Police have recovered the ransom amount worth rupees 48 lakh, 02 pistols as well as bullets from the arrested gang members namely Imran, Saadat Hussain, Shahruk and Shahzaib whereas all resources are being utilized to arrest the fleed flee gang member Mubeen.
