Rescue 1122: DEOs Conference Reviews COVID-19 Situation

LAHORE– The District Emergency Officers (DEOs) conference was held on Thursday at the Emergency Services Headquarters to review the COVID-19 situation in the districts, the flood preparedness status-2020, civil work progress of Tehsils Rescue Stations need analysis of emergency vehicles and human resource in relation to the number of emergencies and population and anti-dengue activities at district level.

The DEOs conference was chaired by DG Rescue Punjab Dr Rizwan Naseer was attended by all District Emergency Officers and senior officers from Rescue Headquarters and Academy.

DG Rescue Punjab Dr Rizwan Naseer welcomed DEOs and congratulated upgraded District Emergency Officers. He said all DEOs are responsible to maintain uniform standards of the Service across Punjab. The number of Corona emergencies have significantly decreased but ensure that rescuers should deal corona emergencies as per guidelines issued by Rescue Headquarters. All staff must wear a mask and keep social distance during duty hours to reduce the spread of corona. Besides that, all DEOs must ensure anti-dengue activities to support dengue control program and report on the dashboard on daily basis

The DEOs briefed the chair that civil works of the Tehsil Rescue Stations are about to complete  except few tehsils and one of the batch of remaining tehsils are under training at Emergency Services Academy. DG Rescue directed them to expedite the construction of Tehsil Rescue Station and complete it before December 2020 so that the Service could be started in all remaining tehsils of Punjab.

DG Rescue Punjab also emphasized on Out Boat Motor, an engine to operate Rescue Boats plays vital role in rescue operation during floods. He directed keep operational all boat engine and ensure Rescuers should be prepared for flood management and all tools & equipment should be properly checked,” he said, Dr Rizwan emphasized to ensure uniform standards of the service and smooth services delivery without any discrimination in all district of Punjab.

The DEO should start grading of Rescue Stations, Vehicles, and Staff and acknowledge the best performing district and staff on monthly basis. All DEOs must ensure smooth and timely Emergency Response and maintained Service standards as equal resources have been provided to all districts so there should be no compromise on service standards.
