Sarwar Visits KLP Jail, Appreciates Jailer For Making It Role Model For Others       

Distributes gifts ad TEVTA training certificates among prisoners

LAHORE MIRROR (Monitoring Desk): Governor Punjab Ch Sarwar visited the Kot Lakhpat Central Jail on Thursday to pay visit to the different parts of the prison and distribute certificates and gifts among the prisoners.
Inspector General Punjab Prisons Mirza Shahid Saleem Baig, DIG Lahore Region Malik Mubashir AHmad Khan and Senior Superintendent Jail Ijaz Asghar received the Governor.
Ch Sarwar distributed TEVTA training course certificates among successful male and female prisoners and gifts. He also inspected the jail’s kitchen and paid from his own pocket an amount of Rs1.27 million for the release of 32 needy convicted prisoners.
Mr Sarwar also planted sapling at the jail as a part of Green Pakistan drive launched by the PTI government.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor asked the IG to replicate KLP jail model in other prisons of the province. He appreciated the efforts of SSJ Ijaz Asghar, saying the Lahore’s central jail has become a model for other prisons and is better than the prisons working in Europe. Mr Asghar was also also invited to the Governor House in recognition of his valuable services for the central jail.
