Lahore Operations Police Release Performance Chart For January
LAHORE– Deputy Inspector General (Operations wing) Lahore Rai Babar Saeed on Tuesday said latest technology and all possible resources are being utilized along with introducing institutional reforms for prevention and control of crimes in the city.
All divisional SPs have been given special task to arrest criminals involved in heinous crimes. Special teams have been constituted to grab proclaimed offenders particularly drug peddlers involved in selling narcotics.
The Lahore Police (Operations Wing) issued the facts and figures regarding its performance of the month of January.
According to the report, as many as 223 accused of 92 gangs were arrested and an amount of Rs1 crore and 55 lakh was recovered from the gang members which was handed over to the actual heirs.
During grand operation against illegal weapons, Lahore police arrested 512 criminals and recovered 18 rifles, four Kalashnikov, 18 guns, one carbine, seven daggers, 441 revolvers and pistols as well as more than two thousand of bullets from their possession.
Three kilogram kg and 680gram heroin, more than 249 kg of charas, more than 64 kg opium and 6,867 bottles of liquor were recovered from arrested 690 accused. An amount of Rs9 00,000 was recovered from 379 accused during crackdown against gamblers.
Lahore Police also arrested 105 criminals during its action against brothels’ in the city. During campaign against proclaimed offenders, Police arrested 310 Proclaimed Offenders of A&B categories in cases of theft, Cheque dishonor, fraud and other crimes.
Police also arrested 385 Court Offenders. As many as 874 criminals were arrested for violation of One Wheeling, Kite Flying, Aerial Firing, bagging, Price Control, Foreigner, Tennant, Marriage and loudspeaker Acts.— PRESS RELEASE
